Odor control

Atomised deodorant or manual spraying?

Manual spraying is cheap to start and expensive to run. Fixed atomisation costs more upfront and less every day after that.

What each method actually delivers

The comparison is not really about chemicals — it is about consistency.

  • Manual spraying: immediate, low capital, and inconsistent. Coverage depends on who is on shift, and the strongest sources are often treated last.
  • Portable misting cannon: faster coverage than a backpack, still manual, still dependent on someone deciding to run it.
  • Fixed atomising system: consistent cycles, zoned by source, runs without supervision, and can respond automatically to a boundary sensor.

The cost comparison that matters

Calculate per day, not per litre bought. Manual spraying uses more chemical per effective treatment because coverage is uneven — some areas are over-wet, others missed — and it consumes operator time that a fixed system does not. A fixed system at 0.5–3 L/h of diluted deodorant on cyclic operation typically consumes less than the manual equivalent, while producing a consistent result.

The practical deciding factors

Choose manual if the site is small, intermittent and has no power near the odour source. Choose fixed atomisation if the site runs daily, has neighbours, or needs a defensible operating record. Most sites that install fixed systems keep a manual back-up for the day something unexpected arrives — which is sensible.

Questions

Atomised deodorant or manual spraying — the questions behind it

Can a fixed system use the deodorant we already buy?

Usually yes. The system dilutes and atomises whatever is approved for your site; we confirm compatibility with the nozzle set and the dosing range before quoting, and we can supply chemistry with its safety data sheet if you prefer a single source.

How is the dilution kept right?

A proportional dosing unit holds the ratio (1:200–1:500 depending on the product) as tanks are filled, so consumption stays predictable and the mixture does not drift between operators.

Does it work in winter?

Yes, with frost protection for outdoor lines — draining, trace heating or indoor routing. This is part of the design for cold climates.
